Sometimes it’s worth a second look…..

The search for the right waterfront property is truly an exercise in patience. So many times reoccurring negatives in our search outweighed any positives: the grandkids would finally want to take the cash out of the family home getaway and the years of neglect would become readily apparent. Or the low bank view looked out over a low bank, low tide mud flat….

This particular lot had septic issues that made the high price a non starter. When the price came down, we took a second look. The 2-bedroom home has a spatial simplicity and a 180 degree panoramic view that is truly spectacular. It also comes with a vacant companion lot that creates a broad side yard separation from the neighboring home on that side - a real rarity in the typical world of waterfront home’s asses & elbows. A last minute second offer with the inevitable brinkmanship and the deal was won with no price escalation - also a rarity.

BUDGET, BUDGET….OH YEAH, BUDGET….

The last waterfront project - see “A (Derelict) Room with a Helluva View” - was truly a labor of luv and an example of how much realizing a dream idea can really cost in time & money. Several years and 100’s of thousands of dollars and the finish line was crossed. The result is both beautiful & an asset to the local community. However, if we had shareholders, they would lobby for our imprisonment for sending so much cash down the dream drain.

The goal (this time) will be to upgrade selectively, keeping the 60’s charm - & god forbid even the tacky light fixtures?
